Dílo was founded in Prague in 1954 as a company of Czech Fine Art Fund. Main functions of Dílo were to distribute works of art, guarantee their quality level, organize exhibitions of contemporary art, commission activities and set up special workshops and establishments for artists to realize their creative intentions. The Dílo stores traded various artworks and decorations including paintings, sculptures, ceramics and porcelain as well as books about fine art.
